-Scupltures were no longer just carved from stone, people began to make sculptures out of clay and then bake them. -Many sculptures were of gods and used for RELIGIOUS purposes or -2550-1600 BCE Stonehenge was created for reasons we still do not know.
-In 8000 BCE it was mainly cave paintings of humans and animals. -as time progressed paintings evolved. in places like babylon the paintings depicted their King and war. -in mesopotamia they would glaze their temples with mineral paint and flames. assyrian art had little depth and looked very flat and two-dimensional. this style carried on much throughout ancient art.

-THe ishtar gate was constructed in 575 bce by a babylonian king. -the ishtar gate was the main entrence in to babylon and it was made to help "Beautify" the empire's capital. -on the wall there is rows of dragons and bulls made of gold tiles and they are surrounded by blue tiles
#12: Elaborate WEaving: -WEAVING WAS FIRST INTRODUCED in the NEOLITHIC era. -people would weave grasses too make roofs for huts, rugs, and beds. -also it would be used to weave simple clothing and shoes. Clothing for rulers and emperors were used to show authority and power. *note* because textiles and cloth decay there is hardly any ARCHAEOLOGICAL records.
