Russia is ruled by many a monarch in this period of prosperity for the rich and despair for literally everyone else. It was during this time that the last king, or Czar, of Russia Czar Nicholas the II was crowned. This is the golden age of Russia. A period of much advancement scientifically and artistically. This is the last era before communism appears on the scene. During 1852 (The very relevant today) the Crimea war takes place.

Economic
Russia economy bursts as the fur trades become essentially and American farm goods reach the eastern part of the Eurasian continent. The economy is feudalistic still unlike its increasingly capitalistic neighbors to the west.

Religious
Russia is still Eastern Orthodox. Their religion has become more secular by this period as their scientific advancements increase and Enlightenment thinking reaches this area.

Society
There are very distinct class differences in this period as well as prominent gender roles. The high class live excessively luxuriant lives, opulent homes and parties. The rich go to the many great symphonies of this era and the many ballets that are also popularized. While the poor barely scrape by on their meager livings. Surfs still exist during this time thought by the end of the period they are no longer a surf class.

Innovations
At this point in history Russia had not industrialized and they would not industrialize until the Communist rule in the early 1900s. One of Russia's huge innovations was in their arts. Namely music as many great composers and musicians were born to this period dubbed the baroque period.

Arts and Architecture
One of the great artistic accomplishments of this period was the great works of literature the most famous being Tolstoy's War and Peace. Other famous literary works in this time include Anna Karenina also by Tolstoy, Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky, and A Hero of Our Time by Mikhail Lermontov. Other great arts were in the music as previously stated. Tchaikovsky, an incredibly famous musician brought his genius to this period with ballets such as Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, and the Nutcracker. Other famous musicians include Igor Stravinsky, Alexander Borodin, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.

The Russian empire has increased to include parts of the Baltic's as Siberia. The empire has stopped moving East and has begun to make its way into the industrialized West. The country is now more than ever influenced by the Western world.
