P: During the early Middle Ages feudalism and manorialism were developed. In 1215 the Magna Carta was signed and it placed limits on the power of the English Royals and in the 13th century parliments were created to give more voice in policymaking.
The struggle between France and England over the English control in France became known as the Hundred Years War and lasted from 1337 to 1453. The Crusades started in 1905 as a result of Western European states expanding and Christian knights attacking Muslim controlled lands.
E: Craftsmen formed merchant guilds and those groups grew powerful enough to trade. The merchant class grew and they helped balance out the aristocracy. In rural areas the manorial system still existed. The large growth of trade and banking in the late middle ages formed the foundation for Western Capitalism. The church made had its policies that allowed Christians to benefit and participate more in the new capitalism. The church promoted wealthy banking families and the growth Venice.
